Lead, a toxic metal, is harmful to unborn babies, children and adults even in small amounts. It causes severe health problems like anemia and joint pain, impacts the skeleton and blood system, nervous, reproductive and immune systems, often causing irreversible, life-long damage that cannot be treated. In Nigeria, most paints and products that are painted contain lead. There are no laws regulating the use of lead in Nigeria. Also, paint labels do not specify this so there is really no way to know. We need our government to protect us by regulating paint manufacturers, importers, etc. If your child is a slow learner, it may not be the fault of your ”village people”. It could be you, who exposed them to lead, unknowingly. @Ugochigreenangle explains further in the short video.
